Statement of Phyllis Salowe-Kaye, Executive Director of New Jersey Citizen Action, Applauding Speaker Joseph Roberts for his 22 years of Service and Leadership on behalf of New Jersey's Working Families
Newark, NJ — New Jersey Citizen Action applauds Speaker Roberts for his dedication and 22 years of service on behalf of NJ's working families. The recipient of NJCA's first Legislator of the Year Award in 2005, Speaker Roberts has continued to champion critical issues affecting NJ's most vulnerable. His many, many years of work on health care reform and affordable housing are laudable. His commitment and dedication to campaign reform is unwavering. Under his leadership, the legislature has passed landmark campaign reform and ethics legislation including New Jersey's Fair and Clean Elections Pilot Programs. Speaker Roberts' leadership and progressive voice in the Assembly will be greatly missed.
