One Last Chance to Stop a Budget Busting Deal

In the early hours of Tuesday morning the New Jersey Assembly passed Chris Christie’s incredibly irresponsible gas tax deal that would blow a nearly $2 billion hole in the budget.

The alternative, which the Senate is considering, would blow a nearly $1 billion dollar hole in the budget, and giving a huge windfall to the inheritors of the wealthiest 4000 estates.

Both of these deals would cost our state billions and billions in revenue in the coming years that we simply cannot afford and cause painful program cuts we don’t deserve. Destroying our state budget is not the way to fix our roads and bridges.

Contact your Senator and Assembly members right now and tell them to reject both deals on the table and to come back in July to come up with a more equitable solution.

Thank you for everything you do,
