In the early hours of Tuesday morning the New Jersey Assembly passed Chris Christie’s incredibly irresponsible gas tax deal that would blow a nearly $2 billion hole in the budget.
The alternative, which the Senate is considering, would blow a nearly $1 billion dollar hole in the budget, and giving a huge windfall to the inheritors of the wealthiest 4000 estates.
Both of these deals would cost our state billions and billions in revenue in the coming years that we simply cannot afford and cause painful program cuts we don’t deserve. Destroying our state budget is not the way to fix our roads and bridges.
Thank you for everything you do,
