Salowe-Kaye Named To Federal Reserve's Consumer Advisory Council

The Federal Reserve Board has named the executive director of the New Jersey's largest citizen watchdog coalition as one its 10 newest Consumer Advisory Council members, according to a release

Phyllis Salowe-Kaye of the New Jersey Citizen Action will serve a three-year term on the council, which advises the Federal Reserve on consumer rights issues.The council meets three times a year in Washington, D.C.

"I can think of no other time when it has been more important to work with the Federal Reserve to increase consumer protections in financial services" said Salowe-Kaye in a statement.

Salowe-Kaye has held her post with New Jersey Citizen Action for almost 25 years. She currently serves on the City of Newark/County of Essex Urban Foreclosure Task Force, and is a co-founder of Shelterforce, a 27-year-old national housing publication.
