Teaneck Suburbanite

Each day is a reason to celebrate, and that is just what the Teaneck Senior Services Center will be doing at a Special Birthday Party on Friday, April 9, at noon at the Richard Rodda Community Center.

Spring birthday celebration

The Center invites adults 55 years and over to join them in celebrating the spring birthdays of its seniors. Enjoy the laughter, singing and cheers for those entering a new year in their lives. Popular D.J. and Entertainer, JoJo Russell returns to add fun to the festivities. Desserts and refreshments will be served.

The Center is located at 250 Colonial Court (at the south end of Votee Park).

Reservations are required as space is limited. Call the Teaneck Senior Services at 201-837-0171, ext. 7023.

'Avoiding Financial Frauds' workshop

The Center is offering a free workshop, "Avoiding Financial Frauds and Scams Targeted to Seniors" presented by Stefanie Rubin, Community Educator at New Jersey Citizen Action Wednesday, April 14 at noon.

This workshop will include up to date information that is both relevant and beneficial to all seniors.

Topics such as Home Improvement and Debt Consolidation Scams, Foreclosure Prevention, Foreclosure Rescue Scams, Potentially Risky Financial Activities, and Helpful Budgeting Tips, will be discussed. There will also be a question and answer period following the presentation to allow seniors to share additional information.

For more information regarding these as well as other on going activities offered at the Center, stop by to pick up a monthly calendar of events, or call 201-837-0171, ext. 7023.
