NJCA To Present Financial Education Workshop

Are you facing financial hardship? Worried about keeping your home? NJ Citizen Action (NJCA), the state's largest citizen watchdog and advocacy coalition, through grant funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Essex County, is offering a free financial education workshop on Tuesday, May 25. The seminar will be presented at 6 p.m. in the library conference room.

Speaker Stefanie Rubin plans to cover topics such as fair housing and fair lending laws, how to spot a predatory lender, home improvement and debt consolidation scams, identity theft, reverse mortgages for seniors, foreclosure rescue scams, legitimate resources for homeowners facing foreclosure, rights of tenants during foreclosure, other risky financial activities, budgeting tips and where to go for help.
