When consumer advocate New Jersey Citizen Action holds its next home buyer seminar it will focus on attracting low- and moderate-income women who want to get into their first home while rates are low and home prices are comparatively reasonable.
The seminar called "A Home of Her Own: Women's Housing Initiative," will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 12 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, 150 Bleeker St., Newark.
To be sure, men are welcome too, says Phyllis Salowe-Kaye, executive director of Citizen Action, which is a U.S. Housing and Urban Development-certified housing counselor.
Banks that will pitch their low-down-payment, below-market-rate loan products include Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Citi, and Capital One, among others.
To register, call 973-643-8800, ext. 218, or send an email to oscar@njcitizenaction.org. Admission is free.
