WESTFIELD, NJ — More than 100 people protested outside of Congressman Leonard Lance's office on North Avenue for the fourth Wednesday in a row this week to urge Lance to vote "no" to the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Several brought signed petitions.

The rally was one of several "vigils to save health care" that evening around the state promoted by New Jersey Citizen Action. More are planned for at least every Wednesday in February, India Hayes Larrier of the organization said.

Congressman Lance met with a group of more than 20 protestors in his office on Jan. 18, where he said he would not vote for any repeal that did not include a significant phasing out/phasing in period for a replacement.

The protesters have been asking for Lance to hold a town hall meeting.

"We received notice today that he his confirming that he will have a town hall," India Hayes Larrier of New Jersey Citizen Action told the crowd. "But no date — he said that it would be during the week of President's Day."
